King Edward Ave. Vancouver BC

Buildings are coming down, others – larger – are going up and King Edward Ave from Oak to Main St. is changing fast. So I was wandering the residential areas to the north and south, west of King Edward station on Cambie’s Canada Line. Here there are some delightful houses.

After several months away from blog drawings, it was a delight to be meandering once again, pen in hand, watercolours at the ready.  True to my art school training, I draw on site, then add colour back in my studio. A good choice in the days of sunshine and showers, not to mention occasional gusts of wind. But this time, I omitted to colour them.

Walking north on Ash,  on the SW corner of W 24th is a similar Normandy style house as above,  tucked into evergreens. It is the home of the architect who brought this style to Vancouver and explains the variety hereabouts.
