Jo’s quirky, often humorous drawings of bench ends in over fifty churches in East Anglia, include poppyheads, unique little people and strange creatures too numerous to all be included in this unique book.

Brief descriptions the of design of bench ends, their subjects and the churches come from notes in her sketchbooks. Designs vary from 13th to 20th centuries, favouring the earliest.  Sketch maps roughly locate each church, listed alphabetically for easy reference.
